Viewing doesn't have to be a one-way process of possession, manipulation, or intrusion. Viewing is interactive. Even our very existence is a meeting of eyes. We are seen, therefore we exist.  

We often forget this fact because our material possessions tend to obscure it: we are inherently part of the world.  

Fortunately, the mountains, water, flowers, and trees can correct our biases and repair our perceptions from moment to moment. It is then, and only then, that we are free from lingering control and surveillance. 

By looking, we reconcile ourselves with the world.
