At the autumn dusk of Bond Lake, I was moved by the natural beauty and mystery of the scenery. This emotion prompted me to pick up my brush and capture its deep spaces and rich textures.
Nature is the best teacher for painters. Looking out across the lake through the interlacing branches and leaves, the sun had not yet fully set and the sky was still tinged with blue. The white clouds floating in the air were slightly tinted with an orange glow, and the reflection of the trees on the opposite shore was vaguely visible on the lake surface. From the textures of the trees to the ripples on the lake water, from the changes in light and shadow to the fusion of natural elements, the diversity and mysterious order of nature provide painters with the most worthy form to decode.
As Cézanne once said, "Art has a harmony that parallels that of nature...the artist is equal to nature."
